Welcome to the most recent update from the world of Front Door Communications – the PR, content and social media agency where everybody knows your name…well all four of us do anyway…and as long as you live in South Wales.
This Summer, we were expecting the usual season of silly as the warmer weather arrived and the kids got out of school but it was not to be this year, in fact, everything seemed to get busier in the world of Front Door…we’ve said hello to some new clients and goodbye to some old. In the UK, we saw a new prime minister, and on a more local, but no less significant scale, Front Door Communications got shortlisted for an award.
Campaign-wise, we’ve seen our tech clients talking about issues such as facial recognition and some new regulation called PSD2 that hits the financial services sector in September 2019.
Credas’ CEO, Rhys David was seen on SKY News talking about facial recognition and why it’s a work in progress. Elsewhere, we have been working with iovation, the fraud prevention business, who was featured in the Daily Mail warning that the online retail industry isn’t prepared for the forthcoming PSD2 regulation. We could not be happier for both of these tech businesses who may be often seen in the trade press, but it’s not often that tech makes it into the mainstream press.

Another exciting project kicked off earlier this Summer which saw six of Wales’s top finance, legal and professional services (FLPS) businesses tackle the issues around creating a more diverse, skilled and talented workforce. A hackathon-style event was held at Cardiff West Community High School, organised by people and business development consultants Sweetmans and Partners. Front Door Communications were brought in for the second year running to support the PR and social media activity for the event which secured some great regional coverage and generated a lovely social media buzz among participants using the hashtag #HackFLPS2019.
We’ve also been busy supporting Welsh Gymnastics with the launch of their brand new Disability Strategy for Wales, which aims to provide a fully inclusive and enjoyable experience of sport for children of all ages and abilities. But with the roll out of a nationwide strategy comes a great deal of responsibility in communicating just exactly what’s changing and why, which is where the Front Door team come in. We’ve been helping Welsh Gymnastics with everything from engaging the Facebook parents community to getting the news out among regional gymnastics clubs.

August is also the month for Green Man, which is where half of the FD Comms team will be camped out in the press tent (just behind the delicious crumpet van) in the Cambrian Mountains helping regional and Welsh music press cover the festival. This year we have also been working with ITV to bring its Wales at six news programme live from the festival site on the Friday evening, so don’t forget to tune in to get a real feel for this great Welsh event that we are very proud to work with.
Also in the world of social, we’ve been writing articles about how to make Pinterest, LinkedIn and Instagram work for your business…all of these are definitely worth a read if you’re thinking about getting your business on these platforms.
