September, back to school at Front Door Comms

​New term, new clients – new phase.

It’s a weird feeling. My kids are starting afresh- it’s a big few years for my boys, my eldest starts the road to his GSCEs, while my youngest starts Comp.

For us as an agency is feels different too. But why, you may ask? To be honest, I’m not quite sure, but it does.

There might be a few reasons why. We’ve survived each one of us going on holiday for a week or so (the first time we’ve done this since starting), we are focussing on the future of the business and where we want to take it, and are welcoming some great new clients – so it feels different, but good different.

To quote that very over used old adage, starting a business is a roller-coaster ride – but the thing is, it really is. There are highs and lows, twists and turns, but what I always keep in mind is that we love what we do. We get a buzz from getting our clients new business, getting great coverage or helping them go up in the google rankings.

As a start-up who also works with quite a few start-ups, we can empathise with their challenges, we understand the difficulties and do our best to help. We luckily also work with big established companies, some of whom have helped us massively in our first few months with advice, testimonials and confidence.

Keeping your confidence high when you first start out is the biggest challenge, and I guess that’s why I’m feeling different as we say ta-ra to the summer and move into the first autumn of Front Door Comms. I feel like we have found our groove, we work well together, we know our strengths, and even more importantly our weaknesses, and it is helping us shape what we will become.

It’s different, it’s exciting and it’s also a tiny bit scary – but I love it and I can’t wait to see what the next few months brings to our Front Door (see what I did there?!).

Wow, that was deep - very unlike me! So, I’m off for a lie down, because as I like to say, too much thinking is bad for you!
